Garage Door Opener Repair
vs Replace

Most garage door openers can be repaired without much of a problem. And this is often a less expensive option than replacing the unit, often we recommend repair over replacement for this reason.

There are other times, however, when replacent is absolutely the best option. For instance, if the unit is more than 15 years old, reparing it would be a waste of your money, here's why...

Federal Regulations (UL 325) were updated in 1993, which made garage door openers safer and If yours was manufactured prior to that date it is unlikely your house would even pass an inspection with it.

In cases like these we recommend replacement to improve the safety of the door and ultimately save you money. Other times it's best to replace:

• Safety Concerns With A Brand - If a manufacturer has been successfully sued for safety defects, we will not repair that model.
• No safety eyes - if the safety eyes are not present, we will not repair.
• If the brand no longer exists, parts for those openers will be unavailable and replacing is usually the only option.
