Precision Garage Door has always been dedicated to bringing you REAL, fair and honest reviews. We receive reviews from our customers through many different mediums. To make our reviews more transparent, we have decided to reveal how exactly these reviews get here.

Types of Reviews


This review was a "Report Card Submission". We ask our customers to fill out a "report card", like the one pictured below, at the completion of every job. The star rating is an average of how the technician performed in knowledge, promptness, courtesy, ability to finish the job quickly and in one visit, clean up of the job site and overall quality of the finished work. To add transparency to our business we make these public on our website.



At the completion of every job we ask our customers to review our business on our website. Their comments are reviewed manually for inappropriate language and then posted to the website unedited.


This review was a "Telephone Submission". Often after work is completed we conduct a telephone survey to ensure complete satisfaction with the work we did. With permission, Comments from these calls are transcribed and displayed on our website.


This review was an "E-mail Submission". Sometimes our customers send us emails to let us know more about how we performed. With their permission these are posted to the site.


This review was a "Postal Mail Submission". Our customers send us letters through traditional postal mail reviewing our performance. When they do, we transcribe it and place it on our website.

I was very disappointed with Precision's service. I had a repair issue because of a broken cable, and instead of fixing what was broken they wanted to replace everything and charge $XXX! If the customer just wants a repair, give the customer what they want! And for that they charge a $XX service fee!

Dave,
Thank you for your feedback. I had a discussion with your technician. He told me that your door was in an unsafe state. In particular, he told me that your bottom panel was rotted and would need to be replaced. I know you have elected to have no work done and have replaced the individual broken cable. Of course this your prerogative, however, we would never recommend you do this. Stainless steel cables do not break because of the weight of the door. Cables break because they are dragging through pulleys that are not turning or rubbing against something they shouldn't be. The best way to fix a door in this condition would be to rebuild the hardware and change the bottom section or replace the entire door. Tim recommended this to you and you have elected not to do it. The $69 service fee we quoted you before coming out to the house is not conditional of whether we do the work or not. I have reached out to you twice on the telephone to discuss this with you further. My goal is to have 100% customer satisfaction. If you call me back, I will make that happen. Regards.

Ben was excellent and competent with a very pleasant demeanor.
However, your Yellow Pages ads were very misleading. The information indicates you carry "All major Brands" and "Lifetime Warranty."
Neither of these are true, which is the reason I would not recommend
Precision. I research products I wish to purchase and feel disappointed and mislead, particularly as a BBB business member. No stars.

Ruth, Thank you for taking my phone call. To review the discussion we had today.

We do service all major brands but when my technician inspected your existing 18 year old Craftsman Motor we found that first it was inoperable due to a short circuit. Additionally, it was 18 years old, near the end if not past it's expected life cycle. We also noted that it was not UL325 compliant as it had no safety eyes. To repair this motor would have been throwing good money after bad. That is why my technician Ben recommended replacement.

As for the Warranty, we will give lifetime warranties on garage door repairs and not motors. However, I have extended the manufacturer warranty to you from their standard to a lifetime warranty guaranteed by Precision Door.

Once again thank you for taking my phone call, it is important for me and my company to receive comments, both good and bad. It will enable me to improve my company and staff as well as ensure our longevity.

I personally wouldn’t use you again. I was a little thrown off by the cost and I had just had the other side repaired for the same thing and I had the company come out that installed the doors and the cost was about a 5th of what I was charged. I know I was told everything will last longer and was better but you should be given an option, even for the simple repair it was still almost triple in cost compared to what I paid. This is not a good time to be ripping off the consumer.

Thank you for your review. We need feedback from our customers, both satisfied and unsatisfied, to improve our business. It will help us achieve our goal which is 100% CUSTOMER SATISFACTION.

In your case I know you were displeased with our pricing. I have attempted to reach out to you to no avail. Absent from a conversation with you I can only speculate what your comments are based upon.

As you may already know our technicians do not set our prices, the company's management and myself do. Although our prices are not established to be the lowest in the industry we need to make sure we can maintain a profit which will enable us to stand behind our product in the years to come. I can not speak as to why the person who installed your door was less. What I can say is when we install new doors most repair issues for the next five years are serviced with no cost to the customer. Perhaps this is why there was such a disparity between our prices and theirs.
