The firm is generally professional and attends appointments on time although does not respond to complaints. The technician who showed up appeared not to be not familiar with a standard, basic Genie door opener and how to trouble shoot a reported problem (including asking for help from others). Furthermore, despite determining that the motor worked, the technician attempted to upsell by recommending to install a new replacement motor, at significant and unexpected cost.

Chris, Because your review came in with a first name only it is impossible to identify you in our data base. How do I respond to this complaint? I am the owner of Precision Door and would like to discuss this with you. How old was the opener? Does it make sense putting money into an old opener especially if it doesn't meet ul325 compliance? I couldn't be more pleased. Kevin, the technician, arrived exactly at the estimated time, was pleasant and courteous and totally honest about the issues with my door. Kevin gave me several options to consider without absolutely no pressure. The repair took a fraction of the time I anticipated and the door is now working beautifully. No one likes to spend money on these kinds of things but I feel that my money was well spent in this case. I will certainly recommend Precision- and Kevin S in particular.

It was a little rough getting started with some confusion between the office and myself in what I needed and scheduling the install, but once manpower hit the site things were much different. Kevin my installer new exactly what I needed, we had to reschedule at that point but that was OK. Kevin came back when he said he would and I got a professionally installed opener at that point.

New door looks great! Installation was very smooth and clean. One things is that the noise is louder than the old door when the door is opening and closing. I would like someone to recheck the door regarding the noise.

I would rate excellent, except a bit more expensive than competition. The weekend service is a BONUS in spite of that. Another downside is, only one remote for my door, and WAY too high for a spare from you (one third your price on internet) Technician was a good guy, but I can say me being around made the job a lot better for him, as we teamed to do a few things, like why the old opener was not working, might be a good idea to have two guys on some jobs. Upshot was, replace the old one. All in all very satisfied, just the price point(s) might be a topic.

Dear Mr. Freiday, Thank you for your input via your review. I am glad we were able to accommodate you with a weekend appointment and your overall experience was satisfying and successful. It looks like you have purchased a chain driven motor unit which comes with one remote. If you had chosen the belt driven unit, an extra remote comes with it. The cheapest way to do things is always to do it yourself or buy it online. If you choose to purchase a remote online just be sure you know which type of remote is compatible with your new opener. Also be sure to read about how to program your new remote so you don't wipe out everything that has previously been programmed. Unfortunately speed bumps can't be detected before we go out to a customers house. In the majority of cases, two technicians are not necessary. If there is ever a situation that more than one technician is needed to handle a job, we would reschedule for a time that our service manager can come with the technician to make sure the job can be completed properly.

The tech that provided service was Gaetano. He was extremely honest and very helpful with everything I needed addressed.
