The response was immediate as advertised and the service technician was very professional. However, do your research before choosing this company as their mark up on parts in 100 percent plus. Educate yourself and get several competing quotes. Check www.angieslist.com for contractor reviews.

Dear Mr. Gray, Thank you for taking the time to review our company. I am glad we were able to respond to your garage door needs promptly and professionally. I find your advice to check Angies list very interesting. If you spend the money on Angie's list I think doing your research is a great idea. While searching for garage door contractors you would come across Precision Door and see we have won the SuperService award on Angie's list for the last three years. There is no other garage door company that has that kind of track record. The cheapest way to get anything in a home fixed is to do it yourself. If you decide to call a lower cost garage door contractor make sure they are licensed to work in the state of NJ and are a fully insured company with workers comp, liability insurance, automobile insurance as well as an umbrella policy. You may not realize, if a technician is injured in your home your home owners policy does not cover this. Do not allow a contractor to work in your home unless they provide documentation of this insurance. Best wishes, Whitiney

Your website and procedures were excellent and your service tech was professional and courteous. However, the cost of your services were way to high...$400 to repair the set of springs on the a door is just too much..I have done this myself in the past and it takes me under an hour to complete. I guess I will be doing it myself again this weekend.

Dear Mr. Papa, Thank you for your kind words. Fixing things yourself is always the cheapest way to do things. Allow me to provide you with a few tips since you decided to do this job yourself. Most springs from your big box stores come with a 2,000 cycle rating which may be why your spring has broken again. Try to go online and find a high cycle spring of at least 25,000 cycles so you do not experience the same spring inconvenience in the near future. If you are unable to find this type of spring please call us and we would be happy to provide this for you with a lifetime warranty as long as you live in your home. You will never have to fix this yourself again.

Your Sales Person got the contract signed on Saturday(06/15/2013) and told me that someone from the office will contact on Monday due to my situation, I needed the door to be fixed by Thursday. But as of today, Thursday 20th, 2013.

I really wish that I did not call for service. The service call charge did not include lubricating the chain or pulley or anything else. The gentleman that came in, immediately decided that the springs needed to be replaced and told us the charge would be $273. There was no other diagnostic work done. When I told him it was a lot of money he made my wife sign a release and left. I got a can of lubricant spray from homedepot, and the garage door works fine.

Kamal, Thank you for reviewing our company. Your feedback, although stinging is appreciated. I have looked at the paperwork on your account and talked to the technician who went out to your house. In his report he found your door to to be out of balance by about 30lbs. According to DASMA and the national safety council a properly operating door is suppose to balance when operated manually unattached from the the garage door opener. Yours did not do this. The reason we ask customers to sign a release is for liability reasons. When a customer does not want to follow our recommendation to fix the door it can sometimes leave a dangerous situation. We can only recommend what you should do . We can not make you do it. Lubrication does not make it safe. When operating a door under these conditions you will either strip the gear on the opener, burn out the motor or have it potentially fall. Doug

Technician pleasant and polite; however, overwhelmed with a sense that he was a salesman and not truly willing to offer a repair solution. Seriously doubtful if I will rely upon Precision again - prices unreasonable in comparison to competitor.

Susannah, I appreciate your input. Our technician Ron recommended replacement of the Garage door opener because you were experiencing intermittent problems with the existing opener. Yes we can try replacing circuit boards and that may fix the problem or it could reoccur again. There is no doubt that replacing the opener is more costly. The benefit is you know it will work. In retrospect if we were to do this again we would probably recommend the same thing again. Sorry we were not able to help you. Best wishes.

I was very disappointed with Precision's service. I had a repair issue because of a broken cable, and instead of fixing what was broken they wanted to replace everything and charge $XXX! If the customer just wants a repair, give the customer what they want! And for that they charge a $XX service fee!

Dave, Thank you for your feedback. I had a discussion with your technician. He told me that your door was in an unsafe state. In particular, he told me that your bottom panel was rotted and would need to be replaced. I know you have elected to have no work done and have replaced the individual broken cable. Of course this your prerogative, however, we would never recommend you do this. Stainless steel cables do not break because of the weight of the door. Cables break because they are dragging through pulleys that are not turning or rubbing against something they shouldn't be. The best way to fix a door in this condition would be to rebuild the hardware and change the bottom section or replace the entire door. Tim recommended this to you and you have elected not to do it. The $69 service fee we quoted you before coming out to the house is not conditional of whether we do the work or not. I have reached out to you twice on the telephone to discuss this with you further. My goal is to have 100% customer satisfaction. If you call me back, I will make that happen. Regards.

I personally wouldnâ??t use you again. I was a little thrown off by the cost and I had just had the other side repaired for the same thing and I had the company come out that installed the doors and the cost was about a 5th of what I was charged. I know I was told everything will last longer and was better but you should be given an option, even for the simple repair it was still almost triple in cost compared to what I paid. This is not a good time to be ripping off the consumer.

As you may already know our technicians do not set our prices, the company's management and myself do. Although our prices are not established to be the lowest in the industry we need to make sure we can maintain a profit which will enable us to stand behind our product in the years to come. I can not speak as to why the person who installed your door was less. What I can say is when we install new doors most repair issues for the next five years are serviced with no cost to the customer.
