One of the wheels of my garage door came off the track when my wife back the car out and tapped the door after she left the trunk opened. There was little damage to the door and when popping the wheel back into the track the garage door worked fine. The service man slightly widened the track and put the wheel back on the track. We were charged $69 for the visit and $184.77 for five minutes of labor. This was outrageous. So I am not satisfied and disappointed with your company. This is not the first time this happened. A few years ago a manager from your company visited my home after work was done and adjusted the bill because of a similar problem. I might have to start looking around for more reasonable rates. Total cost for this minor repair $253.77

Extreme rip-off. If I could give minus 5 stars I would. Technician arrived 2:10 pm. Technician was 10 minutes late for the 4 hour window. Site stated that the service charge would be waived if late. Technician spent more time on the inspection than replacing the springs. Technician was there a whole 40 minutes, left at 2:50 pm Technician Brian replaced two springs that could be purchased from Home depot for $35. There was a non itemized invoice for $500.07. It's a shame to take advantage of a Senior Citizen. You have no Idea what the parts charge or the labor charge was. I would love to have a job that paid $500 for less than an hour's work. I reached out to the company, and I was told the team leader was not available but would return the call. The next day the technician Brian called back not the team leader. I was not able to speak with him at that time.

After the above review was sent I received a call from Rob Zuniga of Precision Garage Doors Service Supervisor. He reached out to discuss the review and apologized for the contact on a Sunday. He further asked what I thought would be a reasonable charge for the repair. He then offered a refund of $200 to bring the charge down to $300.07. I have since received the check, which made it a bit better. Long and short see what the estimate is. If you think it's too much negotiate the final price. Still it's a bit expensive for two springs and a 40 minute service call. I was sent an email from Doug to comment on the review which this is. It would have been so much easier to have detailed estimate like most reputable companies do, and charge a fair price from the beginning. It was great to have a service call on the same day but follow what they advertise and itemize the estimate for a fair price repair for both the customer and the company. Yes the company needs to make a profit and pay for their overhead, but fair pricing is a must.

Real simple. My garage door was not working correctly. It would go down and go right back up. That was the reason why I made the mistake to contact this company. Brian who came to my house told me my that my unit needed a new limit switch and also that the springs needed to be replaced. They quoted me a price of $811 for this work which took one hour at most For the record the limit switch costs about $20 on Amazon and the two springs etc coast about $30. This place fixed my problem but the total charges were excessive to say the least. My fault.

Good Morning Henry. We appreciate you having us out to your property to help assist you with your garage door. We understand that our prices are not the lowest, but we pride ourselves on fixing the door right the first time and using the highest quality products available. Someone from our management team will be reaching out to you to discuss your experience in more detail and ideally help come to a resolution.
As I mentioned before Brian did a very good job with the garage door fix. I give credit to Precision for reaching out to me after my review. They addressed my comments and resolved them to my full satisfaction. Give them a lot if credit for that.

The technician came to my house early, which normally would be great but when they called to ask me about this I said I would be on a work call and it wouldn’t work for me. The technician was rude- and quoted me an outrageous number and was justifying it. Since it was right before Christmas I needed it fixed I agreed. Then after the work was completed the invoice made zero sense- I have called the main office multiple times. Twice I was told someone would call me back to discuss the matter and NO one has called. I would never recommend this company and recommend you stay away from them.

When the Installer came to my house and looked at my Garage Door opener he said that it was prior to 1992 and he could not touch it and still charged me for the trip. If I had a company that would not work on equipment prior to a certain date, I would have the Individual who took the call and set up the appointment ask a simple question as to when the Door Opener was first Installed. When that person heard that the Door opener was installed in the 1980's they could have told me at that time that they could not work on my equipment. I think this Company does not ask the question so that when the repair person is on site they can try to upsell you a whole new Garage Door Opener for $699. I did not take that option and went to Lowes and bought a brand new opener for $179.00 and Installed it myself in about 4 Hrs.

We were disappointed because Sean came out and the garage door was fixed but he disconnected it to check something and it was not working and he left after he was paid $282. When we called to ask for him to fix the wiring he disconnected, Nicole in the call center stated he would come back early the next morning. We could not take another day off from work and had already paid for the door to be fixed and it was not. Expensive service and not properly performed.
- Nancy Innella
Good Morning Nancy, I wanted to thank you for your feedback, and of course we are concerned for the mishap, however it was an oversight, understandably you were inconvenienced, however I am happy we came up with a solution and get this resolved quickly. We do our best everyday to make sure our customers have good experience with us, but once in a while we do make mistakes, most importantly we fix them quickly and efficiently. I am also glad we were able to make this right with you for what you paid. If you need anything please don't hesitate to call

The service I received on Sat Oct 3,2020 was poor. I purchased a Liftmaster opener which was installed around 8:30AM. I had gone out after the installation and when I returned an hour later a family member asked me what was the Piece on the floor of our garage. The piece was one of the sensors which was just clipped onto the inside track of the garage and it had fallen off. The door would not operate of course without the sensor properly aligned and after I had called the office I was told the technician could not come back until 4PM! This is unacceptable when the job was not completed correctly the first time! I had had called several times and one person had told me they would try to send another technician but that did not happen. I had called back and was told "it wasn't going to happen" when I asked when this other technician was going to come. I asked for someone to come earlier because I needed to go out. I was late for my appointment because the technician did not come back till 4:30PM. I was told there may be delay because of an accident on 287 but that is no excuse for the poor service. The technician bolted the 2 sensors to the inside of the door track-Why that was not done in the first place is a mystery. I am extremely disappointed with this kind of service and because of it I cannot see how I could ever recommend Precision Door Service to anyone. I had considered calling Atlas in Wyckoff and with the service I received from Precision I am sorry I didn't call them. I would think in this business climate a company would not allow this kind of service to a customer- especially a NEW customer. Awful Service-Unacceptable

The price for repair was higher than replace all doors and motors with brand new stuff. Before you call this company you should know that few hundred dollars repair will cost you thousands. They also charge you $74 even if they don’t do any work.

Asked the technician to replace the broken spring. He spent a half hour doing 'full inspection' and recommended a $600 'complete installation'. When I said that is not I wanted, he went into his truck and came back with a discounted $500 proposal. All I wanted was to replace two Springs - goes back to the truck and comes with a best and final offer of $300. Wrote him a check for the service call - never again!

I am terribly disappointed and not happy about their business model. The service technician was very nice and pleasant. However, that's it. The tech was more required to sell me a service "Package" of fixes to a simple door issue ranging from $200 - $400, rather than making some quick simple adjustments to resolve my door clicking issue. AND, that's after I'm paying them $75.00 for just showing up. Customers....GO SOMEWHERE ELSE ! Find a company more interested in helping YOU fix a problem, rather than selling-in some service "package" for their own gains......

I hate to leave a review if it isn’t good, I called precision door due to being confused as to complete my door install, Unfortunately I was confused as to what serv I received, besides the poor attitude the tech had, He left with me even more confused then I was before he arrived, With my door still not operational on top of all I was $286.00 poorer then I was before his arrival. The whole objective of calling precision door was to make my life easier and that obviously was not the case.. Sad to say I will not use this company again nor will I refer to anyone..

I was impressed with the information your company provided on the internet. This information convinced me that Precision could provide the type of garage doors I was in the market for. I met Service Technician Chris Karnacewicz as scheduled, he measure the opening for the two garage doors. He immediately stated that the 8' x 9' is consider a commercial door opening and that he would take a picture with his cell phone and send it to his supervisor to see if their company would be interested in doing the work. I told Chris that I would be flexible on down sizing the door, make sure you advise your supervisor of this. He spoke to me for no more than 10 minutes when he said that he would be in touch with me and started to depart. I asked Chris if he had a brochure on the type of doors Precision could offer and does he have a business card? Chris went to his company truck, retrieved the two documents I requested, and immediately returned to his truck to depart. His last words to me, I will be in touch. As of this date, I have not received any telephone call or emails from Chris Karnacewicz which has given me the impression that my garage door project was too involve and complicated for Precision.

If I could have given zero stars I would have, but they do not let me do so. Almost 5 years ago I had Precision come and install a new garage door, a lift system for the door (top of the line) with a keypad and two remotes. Not even 5 years later my keypad stops working correctly and will not open the door. I finally call to have a technician come out, I am not home but my husband is. When I get home he tells me they charged over $200 for a new keypad. I am upset because this seems very expensive for a keypad and I do not feel it should have died so soon. I call about 1 hour after the technician has left my house (I have nothing bad to say about the technician or the women who I spoke with on the phone) and called customer service. I was told that I would need to speak to management and they will not be in until Monday. She took my information and said they will call on Monday. At 4pm on Monday I still did not receive a call so I called back. I was told they would try to get a hold of management and have them call me. NO call Monday. On Tuesday still not call by 3pm. I call them and finally get management. I do not know if they were hoping I would go away if they did not call or not, but I was already displeased by their lack of care for their customers. I asked the management if I should be expected to have to replace my keypad every 5 years because I think that I should have been told that before buying the product. I was told that it should have lasted a lot longer and this was unusual and should not happen again. Once I was told this, I then asked why I was charged over $200 to fix something that was clearly defective. How do they not back the products that they are selling? The response I got was that the manufacture only warranties it for 1 year so they can’t do anything. I stated again how do you as a large company not back the products you sell, because you are not if it is clearly defective and you charged me so much to replace it. Then I am told a keypad should only be $99. He looks up my information and I was charged a package to do a diagnostic and get a keypad, something I did not ask for. So I had to pay $100 over what I should have. Management finally says the best they can do is give you me 2 year warranty on the new keypad, which I flip out to. If it should last 10-15 years what is a 2 year warranty doing. I tell him I am done and will be writing a review about how they do not back their products. I then get told I would get a full refund. I month later and no check. Clearly this company does not care about its clients, is dishonest, disloyal, and does not back their defective products, let alone one that is not.

5 stars. Rare to find such exceptional service today combined with skilled labor. Tim from Precision Garage Door was courteous, prompt and knowledgeable. May not be the cheapest, but well worth the cost when it comes to garage doors that are critical to your home and see high usage. Would recommend 100 percent without hesitation.

Please dont push people to buy services that they don't need, I can certainly feel for the technician since its probably his job to bring bag of $$$$ back to you and he try his best to oversell, not a good business practice in my book.

I was very disappointed and was charged for a service call though no service was required. I explained to the call rep that I was a new homeowner and the garage doors stopped working and I wanted to have someone come out and tell us what our options were to have done. We were charged for a service call thought this was incorrect. Being new to the home owning, I probably incorrectly called it a service call as I didn't realize that this was a specific thing indicating a charge. Overall, I wish that the call rep would have actually heard what I was explaining that I needed and recognized this as an estimate instead. In writing this review, I have to select something in the box "Service Performed*:" as it has the asterisk next to it in order to submite but I reiterate, no service was performed.
- Meghan Childs
This company's customer service was great; after they read this review and knew I was highly disappointed, they listened to the phone discussion between myself and the rep and mailed me back my check. Thanks guys!!!

I give you the worst review. If fix my garage door two weeks ago and it broke down again and you told me you could not come out immediately and my car is trapped in my garage and the schedule could not be adjusted to accommodate me

The firm is generally professional and attends appointments on time although does not respond to complaints. The technician who showed up appeared not to be not familiar with a standard, basic Genie door opener and how to trouble shoot a reported problem (including asking for help from others). Furthermore, despite determining that the motor worked, the technician attempted to upsell by recommending to install a new replacement motor, at significant and unexpected cost.
- Chris Nuttall
Chris, Because your review came in with a first name only it is impossible to identify you in our data base. How do I respond to this complaint? I am the owner of Precision Door and would like to discuss this with you. How old was the opener? Does it make sense putting money into an old opener especially if it doesn't meet ul325 compliance? If the motor worked why did you call us? I'm not saying we did right by you or not because there is to little info to determine. Please call me at 888-490-8700

Not too happy, although I had a great experience years ago which is why I called again, my experience was not so good this time. I felt like I was ripped off. Had garage repaired on Monday, new springs, cables and rollers for $715. Today my garbage door stopped working and the repair person said that it required a new circuit board which cost another $279. I wonder why the board which had no problems previously went after the repair. I am almost certain I would have gotten a better price elsewhere but I trusted Precision not to make me feel ripped off, I will make sure I make note of this on Angie
- Manfred Morales
Dear Mr. Morales, Thank you for taking the time to review our company. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. We are always happy to service our repeat customers from years back. I'm sorry you had the opener go out right after we rebuilt your door. I can understand your frustration. Unfortunately the timing on this can make someone feel that it happened due to our repair. We appreciate your business and want it again in the future. We will be willing to replace the bad circuit board at cost . Please call me at 1888-490-8700.

The technician who showed up was very courteous and helpful. Due to the problem, I did have to give him some assistance with the door. The cost was quite a bit more than I anticipated, I only needed springs replaced and it was over $500. I could live with the cost except, the repair was done the day before I left town so I did not have a chance to see it working. When I returned from my trip the door failed after only 3 uses. I am calling them back and we will see how tit goes.

Dear Mr. O'Keefe, Thank you for taking the time to review our company. I am glad you had a good experience with your technician, Kevin. I appreciate your frustration with the door malfunction. Thank you for your business. At this point I know we have been out and rectified the situation. So sorry for the problem.

The response was immediate as advertised and the service technician was very professional. However, do your research before choosing this company as their mark up on parts in 100 percent plus. Educate yourself and get several competing quotes. Check www.angieslist.com for contractor reviews.
- John Gray
Dear Mr. Gray, Thank you for taking the time to review our company. I am glad we were able to respond to your garage door needs promptly and professionally. I find your advice to check Angies list very interesting. If you spend the money on Angie's list I think doing your research is a great idea. While searching for garage door contractors you would come across Precision Door and see we have won the SuperService award on Angie's list for the last three years. There is no other garage door company that has that kind of track record. The cheapest way to get anything in a home fixed is to do it yourself. If you decide to call a lower cost garage door contractor make sure they are licensed to work in the state of NJ and are a fully insured company with workers comp, liability insurance, automobile insurance as well as an umbrella policy. You may not realize, if a technician is injured in your home your home owners policy does not cover this. Do not allow a contractor to work in your home unless they provide documentation of this insurance. Best wishes, Whitiney

Your website and procedures were excellent and your service tech was professional and courteous. However, the cost of your services were way to high...$400 to repair the set of springs on the a door is just too much..I have done this myself in the past and it takes me under an hour to complete. I guess I will be doing it myself again this weekend.
- jeff papa
Dear Mr. Papa, Thank you for your kind words. Fixing things yourself is always the cheapest way to do things. Allow me to provide you with a few tips since you decided to do this job yourself. Most springs from your big box stores come with a 2,000 cycle rating which may be why your spring has broken again. Try to go online and find a high cycle spring of at least 25,000 cycles so you do not experience the same spring inconvenience in the near future. If you are unable to find this type of spring please call us and we would be happy to provide this for you with a lifetime warranty as long as you live in your home. You will never have to fix this yourself again.

I got the name of Precision fom my Money Mailer at the same time my garage door spring broke. I really wish that I did not call for service. The service call charge did not include lubricating the chain or pulley or anything else. The gentleman that came in, immediately decided that the springs needed to be replaced and told us the charge would be $273. There was no other diagnostic work done. When I told him it was a lot of money he made my wife sign a release and left. I got a can of lubricant spray from homedepot, and the garage door works fine.
- kamal jamal
Kamal, Thank you for reviewing our company. Your feedback, although stinging is appreciated. I have looked at the paperwork on your account and talked to the technician who went out to your house. In his report he found your door to to be out of balance by about 30lbs. According to DASMA and the national safety council a properly operating door is suppose to balance when operated manually unattached from the the garage door opener. Yours did not do this. The reason we ask customers to sign a release is for liability reasons. When a customer does not want to follow our recommendation to fix the door it can sometimes leave a dangerous situation. We can only recommend what you should do . We can not make you do it. Lubrication does not make it safe. When operating a door under these conditions you will either strip the gear on the opener, burn out the motor or have it potentially fall. Doug

I used this company because they were so highly rated. My garage door was still working but would only open part way and stop. When Kevin arrived I told him what was happening with the door and what I had tried in the process of troubleshooting. He told me it would probably cost more to repair it then it was worth and started to hard sell a whole new garage door opener. I asked him if he could fix mine and he continued to sell a new system. The price was from $1600 to replace the one most like mine. I told him no and was going to have my son look at it first. After he left, I got the manual out an found out that the place where the door stops is easily adjustable. I went out this morning and had it working as good as new in 5 minutes. I am 80 years old and use my garage opener several times a day every day. I am lucky that I sad no. Kevin told me he had been doing this for 11 years. I paid $73 for the service call. I am sure Kevin new how to fix it but choose to try to sell me a new opener. I hardly ever leave negative feedback on service people but I am sure this will save some people from being gouged by this company.
