Broke my spring cable in garage door opener. Easy to make appointment. Came same day. Brian quotes me 3 prices. Lowest was 950 dollars. I said ok let me see if I want to do this. It’s alot more then I expected I had the entire system installed for that price and thought it was too high. Brian made me very uncomfortable with his attitude change when I told him in would let him know. He was with an attitude making comments like you don’t want me to fix this while I’m here? And then said how are you going to get your car out? Then he said ok i will grab my ladder and go. And as he left he said good luck with it. First it’s very easy to open a garage door without using the opener they have a pull cord for a reason. But the most disappointed issue was I bought the cables and springs for less then 50 dollars and it took me an hr to fix it. I don’t do this for a living so not sure why it’s 900 in labor an hr. So for that reason I give my experience a 2 star rating

Paid Precision door over 600 to repair my garage door on Wednesday By Sunday the door would not close. It appears that the cables on both sides of the door had no tension, became loose and came out of the rollers.

Our service man John Delpiu was excellent. He was very helpful and went over in detail all that will be done with the installment. He reviewed the invoice and was extremely knowledgeable. He called with an arrival time and he was at our home exactly at that time. I hope the installers are just as great as John. 5 star for John!

My garage door at times automatically shuts off, I have to turn it off and then back on to make it work again. I explained the problem when I was making the appointment. The technician had very good communication skills. Called me before showing up. He was a good guy. Unfortunately, when I explained my problem, he could not help fixing. he referred me to an electrician. I was not charged for the service visit, but at the same time I was not too happy since he could not resolve my problem, while I was told my the person making appointment, any issue we will take care of it for you! Anyhow, I did not mean to waste the technician's time, but I think they could tell me that when I was making the appointment! So I ma giving 2 stars because my issue was not resolved. But the technician came on time and had good communication skills, not able to fix the door.

Technician came at 4pm,locked his keys in the truck. He notified his boss Brandon immediately. 3hrs later, someone showed up to open the door. This was 3hrs of my time that I did not have. Eric was wonderful, apologetic. It was like the office didn't care that their employee was in my house for 3hrs.I couldn't leave, the truck was in the driveway, and it was pouring rain. Once the locksmith came, the job was done in less than an hour. It was almost 8pm when he left. This is unacceptable. You need to have a contingency plan, an extra set of keys for the trucks might do it. Would have saved you a lot of time and $on everyone's part. NOT The Techs fault. Happens, follow up very poor.

Hackettstown, NJ
We called precision, because it serviced the Hackettstown and had a lot of good reviews online. The technician who came out felt he needed to explain in detail exactly what was wrong with the garage, I just wanted him to fix the particular problem and be done with it, (that in itself was fine) he suggested fixing both sides of the spring where only one side had a problem, I said just fix the side that was broken and if or when the other side goes we will replace.
- Mario Lall
Mario, Thank you for your feedback. While I understand it was your goal to fix one spring, our techs are trained to identify and diagnose the issues in your garage. We noted that the spring broke and understood that you only wanted to fix THAT spring, and we did only replace THAT spring for you. However, you need to understand our reason for wanting to fix bith springs. Both springs are the same age and have been used the same amount of times(Cycles) both up and down, so if only one is replaced you will probably be calling us in a few weeks to fix the other one. An analogy we like to use, if your left front brake needs to be replaced you replace the right at the same time: Right?? I hope this clears up your misunderstanding. Thank you for using Precision Door.
Millington, NJ
The service team that came out was very nice. I did feel I was overcharged for the service. I wish someone tried to help me over the phone as it was just a lose screw. I paid $XXX for a lose screw.
- Gail Sinnott
Ms. Sinnott, we understand your complaint but is impossible to diagnose a loose screw over the phone. I feel the fee you were charged was fair as I had to send a fully trained technician out to your home ready and with a stocked truck to fix any problem you may have had.

We were disappointed that the first thing discussed was a new garage door opener at a very high cost as opposed to having the parts to repair our current opener. Now we are waiting for a return visit in several days.
- Charlotte & bill Mallory
MR and Mrs Mallory, Thank you for reviewing our business. The reason we recommended opener replacement instead of repair has to do with the age and the condition of the existing motor. If it does not meet UL 325 compliance we will not repair due to safety issues. I'm not sure why the keypad needed to be reprogrammed. Hopefully now that it has been corrected it will give you many years of trouble free operation. Best wishes, Doug
Fairfield, NJ
The service tech was great. He reviewed my doors and reommended the best alternatives to follow to assure the best operation of the doors. Unfortunately, the cost of implementing the recommendations were extremely high. The cost to replace two cables was $96. plus the $69 service fee. The cables could cost $10. Subsequently, the labor cost was $86 plus $69 for a job.
- Nick Capuano
Nick, Thank you for the review. I'm sorry you were not happy about our price. I take full responsibility for that. My technicians are not responsible. When determining our prices I need to take into consideration all the cost of doing business. It's not cheap providing a 24 hour 365 day repair service in northern New Jersey. I'm not surprised you said our service tech was great. We are extremely careful about who we hire. Each of them are drug and background tested and trained to the extreme. Prices need to be determined considering insurances, overhead, gasoline, liability, salaries, advertising etc. Thank you so much for your business. Doug

Service technician called 1hr before arrival and arrived on time. Service was clean, fast and complete. My 2 star rating is because fee for service was very high when compared to amount of labor time required. Had I known the job would only take about 1 hour to complete, I would have declined the service based on the price.
- Glen Llyod
Glen, Thank you for reviewing our business and technician. I appreciate your candor. Normally when we have a problem the time is an issue because it took to long. Our techs are equipped with all the right tools to get the job done asap. Labor rates are not the only things considered when we establish our price structure. If you are not satisfied please call me directly. I want all our customers 100% satisfied. Doug 973-283-3124

I was told the service call would be 69.00 plus parts.I did not need any parts but i did need an adjustment.I was then charged 69.00 plus a labor rate of 85.00.I was never told about this.Although the service was very good, felt like I was mislead on the cost of the service call.I might not call again because of this.
- kevin finnerty
Dear Mr Finnerty, Thank you for reviewing our business. I'm sorry for the confusion. We do have a service charge for coming out to your house of 69 dollars. It is charged to help cover the high cost of sending a qualified technician to your home. For that 69 dollars he will do a 18 point written safety inspection, tighten all loose hardware and lubricate the door. Normally we will then give a written quote to replace parts that are broken. The price we give you for the parts is an installed price. We don't have an additional labor cost. In your case because no new parts were needed to fix the problem a labor charge was necessary. We need to be more clear on the phone so you are not surprised in person. As a token of faith I would like to offer you a free service call in the future. Just tell the office about this review. We want your business in the future. Best wishes. Doug
Summit, NJ
I won't be calling on you again. While I think the work was done properly and the technician was polite and knowledgable, I don't think I was given an upfront overall estimate of the complete service that was probably needed. So in the end I got a partial job and I'll have to call someone else in the near future. I also don't think I received the AAA discount that I specifically mentioned when I scheduled the appointment. Hours after the technician left I found that he had left the garage door open.
- pat overmyer
Pat, Thank you for the review. As you know we have been working with you regarding these issues. I want to apologize for leaving the door open but more important not leaving you 100% satisfied. We appreciate your business and hope you are now ok with our solutions to the problems. Sometimes things don't go the way they should and we try to take responsibility when that happens. We would appreciate it if you would do a follow up review now that we have addressed the problems. Best wishes Doug

the technician was fine. the 69 fee is rediculous if i'm paying you so much already.
- bernard kashmann
Dear Mr Kashmann, Thank you for reviewing our business. I'm sorry you are disappointed with our service fee. The 69 dollar fee is designed to cover the high cost of having trucks and employees available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Unfortunately gas prices and overhead cost keep escalating and make it difficult to waive this fee. We appreciate your business and hope you understand. Best wishes Doug

YOUR SERVICE WAS GOOD.BUT YOUR PRICE FOR A DOOR REBUILD WAS TO HIGH. AFTER YOUR SERVICE I CALLED OTHER DOOR COMPANY FOR PRICE QUOTES ON THE SAME SERVICE.ALL AROUND XXX WITH TAXS. I WOULD NOT RECCOMAND YOUR COMPANY TO ANY BODY DUE TO YOUR PRICES.
- John
Dear John, Thank you for your comments. We are not the cheapest garage door company in New Jersey. I know my competitor will quote lower prices, especially over the phone. If you look further than just price you will probably find all things are not equal. Our garage door rebuild comes with a lifetime warranty. Most companies only offer 1 to 3 year warranties because of the type of parts they use. The biggest difference in price however is not related to that. One of our largest expenses is related to insurance. Workerâ??s compensation Insurance is by far the most expensive and is required by state law. You would be amazed by how many contractors who donâ??t carry it. If an accident was to occur and the coverage was not in place the worker can actually sue the home owner. These two topics above are some of the items that come into play when we are establishing our prices. With that being said; we still carry a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee. Our goal is to make you happy and a satisfied customer, please call me to discuss this matter further. Thank you, Doug

One of my laser eyes was (is) acting up and I could not get a consistent beam w/ my green light. I was not aware how simple the fix seemed to be until Tim stopped by on service call and adjusted the camera and all seemed well. Unfortunately, soon after he left the green light went off, and unfortunately I can not seem to get it back on line consistently again. Tim was great, no problem with him. It did appear that the fix was made. However, within a day, I am back to where we started, with no consistent solid beam with the laser eyes. Costly appointment with no long term satisfaction.
- Brandon Smith
We contacted Mr. Smith, the safety eyes were short circuted, we have had a technician replace the existing safety eyes at no charge. We apologize for the inconvience, but with shorted wires, they sometimes work and they sometimes don't. This fix should address your concerns.

Tim was punctual, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. However, my overall experience with your company was definitely negative. I paid a premium to have your company do the work. I could have paid $XXX at Home Depot (I know that it would have been a subcontractor) to have the identical opener purchased and installed. Instead, I paid $XXX for your technician to do it, a premium of $XXX (minus a $XX coupon). I was okay with that, because I've been happy with your company in the past, and I was certain that the job would be done right. But, to then get hit with the $XX service call fee was a very unpleasant surprise. Whenever I've had electrical, plumbing, etc. work done, there's always been a service call fee, but it would be waived if I then had the technician do the repair or installation. I'm amazed that you charge that fee, when your technician was already at my home (he didn't have to make a return trip to do the job), it was a replacement of an existing opener (not an installation from scratch), and I'm paying a hefty premium. I would not use your company again, and there's no way that I could recommend you to others, given your current policy. I can be reached at XXX-XXX-XXXX if you have any questions or comments. Prices and contact number redacted by webmaster.
- Rick Schluter
Rick, Thank you for your comments, I am upset that this happened to you. I agree with your comments and agree that the service call should be refunded and will do so. I will inform my Service Manager to review this matter to ensure this does not occur again. I thank you for your past patronage and look forward to winning back your future garage door needs.

Having nothing but good things to say about our technician. He was friendly, nice, and punctual. What I have an issue with is the billing practices of this company. Besides their very high prices and upsell on things, they charge a 3% fee to use a credit card. That is outrageous for a company this size. Additionally, a $15 fee was added to our bill which was suppose to be taken care of at time of payment. When payment came, the amount was still the same when the fee was applied despite assurances it was taken off. The fee never came off and it was not until I pressed that it wasn’t that it magically came off and was at the correct price. Very shady billing practices.
